What Is Breakout?

A breakout occurs when a price moves above a resistance level or below a support level with increased volume, signaling a potential new trend. Breakouts are most reliable when confirmed by on-chain data: a price breakout above resistance accompanied by whale accumulation and increasing buying pressure is more likely to sustain. False breakouts (where price briefly crosses a level then reverses) often lack whale participation. Sonar Tracker helps validate breakouts by showing real-time whale buying or selling activity around key price levels.
