What Is Front-Running?

Front-running in crypto occurs when a trader sees a pending large transaction in the mempool and places their own transaction ahead of it to profit from the expected price impact. For example, if a whale's pending buy order for $5M of ETH is visible in the mempool, a front-runner might buy ETH first, then sell after the whale's order pushes the price up. MEV bots automate this process. Sonar Tracker helps detect potential front-running by monitoring large pending transactions.
